Vintage bookmobiles

Bookmobile

Hey there! Fall term is in full swing, and I have been exhausted, y’all. But not too exhausted to collect some of the more interesting things on the interwebs to come across my desk, er, laptop.

♥ … like these breathtakingly beautiful photos of abandoned places in Europe. Somewhere, Miss Havisham is aching.

♥ … and this wonderful gallery of early library bookmobiles. Looking at these kinds of vintage photos always leaves me with a smile on my face. 🙂

♥ … as does looking through this list of things notoriously grumpy author Jonathan Franzen currently loathes. The list is very long. And (unintentionally?) hilarious.

♥ … and The Guardian‘s collection of daily routines of famous authors, including Agatha Christie, who was able to write anywhere — including in the middle of a desert beside a broken-down jalopy, which, in turn, led to a marriage proposal. (That story’s not in the article, it’s in her autobiographies, which I’ve also read. So get on that.)
