Next weekend, I’ll be at the American Library Association (ALA) Annual Conference in Chicago. ALA Annual is a huge conference with over 20,000 librarians in one city — always an amazing time!
Also amazing is…
♥ … this round-up of 50 books everyone needs to read, 1963-2013. What’s so interesting about this list is that they chose THE book from each year (along with runner-up recommendations published from that same year). Lists like this remind me of how much reading I have to catch up on. So many books, so little time. 😉
♥ … this list of 17 movies starring books. I have watched all but two of the films. Can you guess which ones I haven’t yet seen?
♥ … this chart of Game of Thrones actors & actresses in previous roles. Some of the photographic juxtapositions are HILARIOUS. Oh, Charles Dance, you saucy minx, you.
♥ … and, last but not least, Stephen Colbert’s heartwarming tribute to his mother, who recently passed away at the age of 92. I’m tearing up just remembering it! Seriously, one of the most honest and beautiful and life-affirming things I’ve ever watched.
“I know that it may sound greedy to want more days with a person who lived so long. But the fact that my mother was 92 does not diminish, it only magnifies the enormity of the room whose door has now quietly shut.”
